YogaZenGolf is a better way to prepare your body and mind to improve your golf game. 

 

YogaZenGolf integrates yoga with golf, leading you through golf specific yoga poses and breathing techniques for the benefit of your body, mind, and emotions. Learn to achieve a steadier, more consistent, and focused round of golf. Participants often enjoy lower scores, a healthier disposition, and more gratifying experiences on the golf course. 

 

There are many ways yoga can improve your golf game:

  • maintain better balance and a solid foundation for your swing

  • increase your flexibility and range of motion, especially in your hips, spine & shoulders

  • increase your strength all over and especially at your core, the center of it all

  • improve your mental concentration and focus

  • manage and control your breathing to lessen fatigue, alleviate tension, and balance emotions

  • build awareness of your body posture to help eliminate muscle imbalance and thus injuries

  • manage and improve existing injuries


Find your zen in the process. Much like "being in the zone", zen is meditation, contemplation, awareness, intuition, and observing oneself. Zen is a focused calm that comes from being in the flow, being fully present, and being free of distractions. Zen is being one with the universe...and your golf game.

YZG CLASSES

YZG Focus & Flow
(before golf)

A combination of accessible stretches and postures, fluid movement, and breath. Sharpens  focus, elevates mood, builds confidence, enhances well-being, and reduces stress.

Body Benefits: spinal integrity, cardiovascular health, balance, flexibility, muscle activation, energy, mental clarity.

YZG Recuperate & Restore
(after golf)

An active deep stretch targeting primary muscles and connective tissues surrounding the hips, hamstrings, and the lower and upper back regions. Releases tension, prevents injury, and promotes active recovery.

 

Body  Benefits: joint mobility, alignment, flexibility, relaxation, mental clarity.

YZG Lengthen & Strengthen
(off-days)

A cross training workout combining body weight exercises with progressive yoga posture variations. Challenges mental and physical fortitude, increases metabolic activity, promotes detoxification, and improves muscle endurance and bone health.

 

Body Benefits: strength, power, coordination, cardiovascular health, endurance.

Jenny Wiegand, certified yoga instructor and former touring golf pro, can help take your game to the next level.

ABOUT

Jenny Wiegand, a former touring golf pro and collegiate coach, is a golf instructor and certified yoga teacher who specializes in yoga for golfers. Jenny integrates yoga into your golf game with a mind, body, spirit approach to help you stretch and strengthen your body while learning to control your mind and emotions.

 

A lifelong competitive athlete, Jenny has been both player and coach, student and teacher of many sports, including field hockey, lacrosse, basketball, tennis, and golf. A proponent of cross-training for any sport, she started practicing yoga nearly twenty years ago when she made golf her full time profession. She was aware of the strengthening and stretching benefits of yoga; what she also discovered was the stress reducing aspects, the controlled breathing, the calm, the focus - the zen.

​

When Jenny is not teaching her YZG sessions, she can be found working for CBS Sports at PGA tournaments, residing as golf instructor at Grenadier Island C.C., collaborating with her husband and business partner in their entertainment and speaking business, practicing yoga, playing golf, reading a good book, or hiking with her golden retrievers.
